NADT NEWS LETTER - SEPTEMBER 2008

Brief details of the important events that took place in the month of September, 2008  are as given below.

INDUCTION COURSE

             Having taken their first Departmental Examination in the last month, the Officers Trainees are now undergoing their "On-Job-Training" (OJT) since 8th September, 2008 at 19 different stations in the country. Their OJT will be followed by a week long Industrial Attachment after which they will join the Academy and resume their classes for the second module from November 10, 2008. 

WORKSHOP ON BEST PRACTICES FROM 4th SEPTEMBER TO 5th SEPTEMBER, 2008

A two day long workshop on best practices of the department was conducted at NADT. The Workshop was inaugurated by Mrs Saroj Bala, Member (Revenue), CBDT.  The workshop was a part of a larger initiative of the department under the Knowledge Management System  to bring out, preserve and disseminate the best practices, orders, actions and events of the organization and showcase them in such a manner as to benefit other members of the organization in learning how to imbibe and exhibit best practices in their respective works. During the workshop, several such best orders and practices were discussed among the participants. 

SEMINAR ON CREATIVE LEADERSHIP FOR SENIOR COMMISSIONERS (1982 BATCH) FROM 8th SEPTEMBER TO 10th SEPTEMBER, 2008

A three day seminar was held for the senior commissioners of the department to refresh them on some of the more recent changes and happenings in the surroundings so as to help them bring about a change in the culture and systems of the organization. Being senior officers, the concept of creative leadership was not new to them, but the seminar was useful in driving home the point that one has to use the resources (human, financial and strategic) around her more effectively and efficiently in bringing about a cultural change and improving the organization. Moreover, a change cannot happen without making sacrifices and it includes changing oneself as well as the surroundings. 

COURSE ON ASSESSMENT OF REAL ESTATE DEALERS AND BUILDERS FROM 15th SEPTEMBER TO 17th SEPTEMBER, 2008

A course on assessment of real estate dealers and builders was organized for the officers of different ranks to educate them on the recent developments in the real estate sector and how these changes have affected the approach needed to assess their incomes correctly. The course included inputs on evolution of the accounting principles, FDI in real estate sector, financial structuring of real estate companies and their legal interpretations under the Income Tax laws.

SEMINAR ON CREATIVE LEADERSHIP FOR SENIOR COMMISSIONERS (1983 BATCH) FROM 22nd SEPTEMBER TO 24th SEPTEMBER, 2008

         A three day seminar was held for the senior commissioners of 1983 batch on the similar lines to the one held for the 1982 batch officers.
