1945

The first Training center was housed in Central Government Office Buliding,New Queens Road,Bombay.

1950

The Training Center shifited to 3 Government Place,West Calcutta.

1957

The Training Center again shifted to MLA’s Hostel,Temple Road,Nagpur.It was named ‘Income tax Officers’ Training Collage.

1970

The Training Center shifted to Bank of India Buliding,Station Road,Nagpur.It was named IRS DT Staff college.

1981

The Training Center shifted to present campus at Chhindwara Road,Nagpur.It was elevayed to the status of National Academy of Direct Taxes.

1984

Job-worthiness Module added.

1986

Snap Home Tests started

1993

OJT for 15 days during 2^nd module began.

2006

NADT enters into a tie-up with NALSAR,Hyderabad.On completion of training and research project, a masters Degree in Busssiness Laws and Taxation to be awarded to Officer  Trainees.

2008

Inauguration of cricket ground in the campus, Foreign attachment introduced in Professional programme of IRS OTs

2009

New curriculum for OTs introduced after carrying out Training need analysis.

2010

Laying of foundation stone of Advance Training centre by Hon’ble FM, Foundation Course for newly recruited civil servants resumes at NADT

2011

Construction of Jait van – a garden by OTs of 63^rd batch of IRS, NADT hosts first All India Chairman’s cricket trophy.

2012

Inauguration of New hostels for Officer trainees – Vikramshila; Construction of lal bungalow by shramdaan of 64^th batch of IRS, Army attachment for IRS OTs of 65^th batch for the first time, 3 months induction course for newly promoted ACsIT introduced,  Meritorious Officers of NBR Bangladesh attends 2 week programme at NADT,  Taxation attachment of Indian Railways Accounts Service with exams introduced, Scheme of having temporary faculty in the Directorate of training introduced.

2013

The Hon’ble President of India Sh Pranab Mukherjee was the chief Guest in the valediction ceremony of the 65^th batch of the IRS, The NADT library gets level 4 status, First Inter Services workshop Sponsored by DOPT held at NADT, ‘Woods 65’ a shramdaan project by the 65^th batch of the IRS in which teak plantation with drip irrigation has been carried out near the auditorium, Securities market attachment with NISM introduced. Banking attachment with SBI introduced for OTs for the first time.

2017

Inauguration of Advanced Training Centre by Sh. Sushil chandra, Chairman, Central Board of Direct Taxes.
